OH NOOOOOOO OHGMYGDOSH ON THE BATTLEFIELD AND THEN AFTERWARDS OGHFD the wagging finger too aLSO CAUSE HOW IMPROPER IS IT FOR A HOBBIT TO ACCEPT A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL/GET MARRIED ON A BATTLEFIELD IT SHOULD BE DONE AT HOME WHILE THE FIRST FLOWERS OF SPRING ARE BLOOMING UNDER THE PARTY TREE AND NOT SURROUNDED BY INJURED PEOPLE AND CORPSES
BUT THORIN AFTER REALIZING HE COULD HAVE DIED AND REALIZING HOW WRONG HE WAS TO BANISH BILBO AND TREAT HIM THAT WAY AND HE WANTS TO MAKE UP FOR IT AND HOW BETTER THAN TO JUST GET MARRIED RIGHT THEN AND THERE
thorin tries to make himself somewhat respectable by trying to clean his face but he’s still bleeding and bilbo’s probably a bit banged up as well and he really is not in the mood for thorin’s ridiculousness and finally he promises that he’ll think about it but they are certainly not getting married on the battlefield still covered in blood and grime and sweat, thank you very much.
“Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I’ve found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay… small acts of kindness, and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps it is because I am afraid… and he gives me courage.”
I wonder if this had been some sort of foreshadowing that Gandalf had hoped Bilbo would stave off the gold sickness…
Imagine Thorin onnthe wall holding Bilbo by the cuff of his shirt and Bilbo closing his eyes because he doesn’t want to see his friend kill him
Imagine Thorin lowering him and banishing him, telling him never to set foot in Erebor again
Imagine Bilbo whispering Thorin’s name, a plea for him to reconsider
Imagine Bilbo leaving, shrugging aside the other dwarves and walking, head held high to Gandalf, promising himself that it wouldn’t matter if it cost him his life, he would ensure Thorin’s safety
When the seas and mountains fall
And we come, to end of days
In the dark, I hear a call
Calling me there,
I will go there
And back again
Went to The Crucible again today.
Met Richard and gave him cupcakes, wish him good luck for the first matinee this morning.
He looked quite fresh, guessed he had a good sleep last night.
The play changed a little bit since I last saw it (this Monday), and it was better.
Really glad they successfully did two show in a day! (the running time is 3 hours 45 minutes including 20 minutes interval, which means the matinee finishes at 6.15 and the evening show starts at 7.30!)
Looking forward to the Press Night!!
